About this role We are seeking a skilled and experienced Fitbit and Wear OS Wearable Developer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining applications and features for Fitbit and Wear OS platforms. Your expertise in wearable technology, fitness tracking, and mobile development will contribute to creating innovative and user-friendly experiences for our customers. As a wearable developer, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including designers, product managers, and quality assurance engineers to deliver high-quality solutions. Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain applications and features for Fitbit and Wear OS wearable devices. Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code using relevant programming languages (e.g., Java, Kotlin). Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand product requirements, user needs, and design specifications. Implement user interfaces and user experiences that are intuitive, visually appealing, and optimized for wearable devices. Integrate wearable sensors and fitness tracking functionalities to capture and interpret user data. Conduct thorough testing and debugging to ensure the reliability and performance of applications on Fitbit and Wear OS platforms. Optimize applications for battery efficiency and responsiveness on wearable devices. Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in wearable technology, Fitbit, Wear OS, and mobile development trends. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to wearable applications, collaborating with the support team when necessary. Document development processes, code changes, and technical specifications. Collaborate with product managers to define and prioritize features based on market demands and user feedback. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). Proven experience in developing applications for Fitbit and Wear OS platforms. Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Kotlin, or other relevant languages. Strong understanding of wearable technology, fitness tracking, and sensor integration. Familiarity with mobile development frameworks and tools, such as Android Studio. Experience with UI/UX design principles and creating visually appealing and user-friendly interfaces for wearable devices. Solid understanding of software development best practices, including version control, code reviews, and testing methodologies. Strong problem-solving and debugging skills to identify and resolve technical issues. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and effectively communicate ideas and solutions. Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and a passion for delivering high-quality products. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience developing wearable applications specifically for Fitbit and Wear OS. Familiarity with Fitbit SDK and Wear OS development guidelines. Knowledge of cloud integration and synchronization with wearable devices. Understanding of Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) communication protocols. Experience with agile development methodologies. About this role: We are looking for a Data Scientist to help Awake Labs reach our next phase of growth. You are a data-driven person who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You are user-focused, innovative, collaborative, and lead with empathy. In the first six months of your time with Awake Labs, your work will be very hands-on. As the needs & priorities of the company evolve, so will yours. There is a significant opportunity for you to grow as Awake Labs transitions from an early-stage startup to an established, highly successful company. Your work will focus on the algorithm our smartwatch uses to measure and track strong emotions in real-time. Responsibilities: Use statistical modeling, machine learning, and numerical optimization to discover and explain patterns in data. Build models to gain insight from user data Outline pragmatic solutions to answering insight needs, ie. balancing quantitative rigor, data incompleteness, and timelines Work with the engineering and product teams to provide input to the data science product roadmap Qualifications: 3+ years of experience in analytics, data science, or other quantitative fields Undergraduate degree in a STEM field (bootcamp grads and self-taught devs with portfolios OK too!
